Vacancies
The South Brisbane Federal Band always welcomes musicians of outstanding musical ability who are highly motivated and available to commit to regular weekly rehearsals and performances. At times, the band has specific vacancies within it’s ranks, which can be found listed below. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings, with players also required on Thursday evenings in the lead up to major events. The Feds are a highly motivated and committed group, with attendance at all rehearsals required of all current and prospective musicians.
The South Brisbane Federal Band allows it’s members the opportunity to perform at the highest levels of Australian Brass Playing. Being an A Grade Band, we have made a commitment to contest the Australian National Championships at Easter each year, the Queensland State Championships in June, as well as the invitational Australasian Open Championship, held in October. The ensemble performs regularly in Brisbane and the greater South-East corner of Queensland, and has recently established it’s own Major Concert Series.
Regularly socialising together, the band is above all else, a community organisation dedicated to providing a place for local musicians to practice and perform to a high level.
