The Feds are well into rehearsals now and tickets are selling fast. “A concert on this scale by a local Brisbane band hasn’t been seen since The Feds last held a concert way back in 2007 with Cathedral Brass”! Classic Brass, the first in a new regular concert series from the South Brisbane Federal Band, will be a unique and refreshing evening of music.

An approach which is different from the norm for classical and regular brass band concerts should keep patrons coming back again and again. “We are aiming for a concert going experience which is completely different from the average performance in Brisbane”. Food, wine and refreshments will be served for free at interval and patrons can enjoy a definite “Feds” theme in the foyer.

If you haven’t already, then grab your tickets at our online Box Office as there will only be limited tickets available at the door.

The Queens Birthday long weekend saw the return of the 2010 Queensland Brass Band Championships to the Gold Coast. Amid all the competition and catching up was the annual Gala Concert and headlining a list of very fine ensembles was The Feds.

Playing works such as Wagner’s “Lohengrin” and the finale to “The William Tell Overture” the ensemble wowed the crowd with an impressive display of technical skill and musicality. Soloists Kirsty Biggs and Dan Bryant both delivered amazing performances, with their renditions of “Rusulka’s Song to the Moon” by Dvorak and “Bess You Is My Woman Now” respectively. Audience members all agree that The Feds were the hit of the night.
