The South Brisbane Federal Band is proud to announce the Composition Competition 2012. To celebrate their 100th year, the FEDS are offering composers around the country the chance to feature in their 100th Year Celebration Concert.

The South Brisbane Federal Band is one of Australia’s finest Brass Bands. Formed in 1912 and based in Brisbane’s inner city suburbs, this group of 28 musicians has for generations entertained the people of Brisbane. We are a highly competitive ensemble in Regional, State and National Competitions at the prestigious “A” Grade level and for the best part of the last century, have developed hundreds of fine musicians within our organisation.Continually expanding audience bases and developing new musical ventures, the band is dedicated to presenting outstanding musical performances for the public. Whether it’s one of our regular free concerts in the park on a Sunday afternoon or a Gala concert at one of Brisbane’s amazing first class venues, the band’s Concert Calendar is wide and varied.
